To date, Justice Canada Victims Fund has been the financial catalyst which enables Koala Place to operate. In June 2013, we received an allocation totaling $306,500.00 over a period of two fiscal years (which ended on March 31st, 2015). Unfortunately, the Department of Justice is not a long term funder and only provides support for start-up initiatives with phasing-out funding. Over the next two fiscal years (ending on March 31st, 2017), Justice Canada Victims Fund has provided us with a total of $160,000 to operate ($80,000 each fiscal year). For Koala Place, the cutback represents nearly half of our operating budget, with no replacement funding in sight.
The donor recognition list celebrates organizations, businesses and individuals for their commitment to Koala Place. What we have accomplished with these gifts is immense and we are thankful for the generosity of all the donors. We are achieving great things, and it’s thanks to you.
