Koala Place, Child and Youth Advocacy Centre is expanding and enhancing their support in the community.  The Team has received funding from the Department of Justice Canada to develop and provide direct support to children and youth and their families   In addition to being a safe, child friendly and focused environment for children and youth to tell their stories, the organization will welcome a case manager/system navigator over the next 2 years to ensure children and youth and their family is connected to the necessary support and services in the community.

The grant was confirmed in early February and will assist Koala Place with three key objectives by funding an added case manager.

It will enhance Koala Place’s ability to provide intensive case management support to children, youth and families who have experienced or witnessed abuse, domestic violence or trauma while providing support from various local resources.

It will also allow Koala Place to grow community awareness efforts, community needs as well as develop a sustainable programming model.

The funding will also assist Koala Place with shared training opportunities for our diverse team of crisis intervention experts.
